The Story: The absolute queen of howls and high fives, this monochromatic piece was inspired by the one and only Kaia. This girl was the dog of my 20s and early 30s. She was my everything. We spent a minimum of 3 days a week on the mountain trails, the in betweens either walking, running, or biking around our neighborhood (our "block" is 3 miles long if that tells you anything!). Kaia's two favorite tricks? Howling and high-fives. We made a tradition of getting high-five pics and videos at the lookout of every hike, at the end of every run, or to wrap up any adventure. She would proudly swat your hand until she felt she got good contact. Then stomp her feet excitedly while giving the puppy-dog-eyes to demand a treat.
