About this painting: I am SO guilty of painting small, so I decided to challenge myself to paint a bit bigger. The original sketch I had for this... absolutely terrible. It was flat. There was not character. It felt... empty. I put it on a shelf and left it there for at least a year, maybe two. When cleaning out my art room, I came across it again and thought "hmm, let's see what we can do with this." I figured I didn't like it anyway, so there would really be no loss if I "messed it up." Well, round two turned into something I was much more proud of. Something that actually reminds me of home when I look at it. Or even a place that I have never been but want to be.
